REFUND POLICY – TUTOR NATION PORTAL

1. Introduction

This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing refunds, cancellations, replacements, and fee adjustments for services offered through Tutor Nation (“Tutor Nation”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By using the Platform or making payments through the Platform, users agree to this Refund Policy.


2. Non-Refundable Platform Fees

2.1 Teacher Platform Fees

Any platform fees, registration fees, profile activation charges, renewal fees, or annual subscription fees paid by tutors/teachers are strictly:

  • Non-refundable

  • Non-transferable

  • Non-adjustable

under any circumstances.

This applies irrespective of:

  • Number of leads received

  • Assignment conversion

  • Tutor inactivity

  • Profile suspension

  • Voluntary discontinuation of services


2.2 Student/Parent Platform Fees

Any platform fees, registration charges, booking fees, service charges, or subscription fees paid by students or parents are strictly:

  • Non-refundable

  • Non-transferable

  • Non-adjustable

under any circumstances unless specifically mentioned otherwise by Tutor Nation in writing.


3. Tutor Replacement Policy

If parents/students are not satisfied with the assigned tutor within the first 7 days (“Initial Evaluation Period”), Tutor Nation may, at its sole discretion:

  • Replace the tutor with another suitable tutor, OR

  • Process refund of tuition fees on a proportional basis as per unused classes/sessions.

Tutor replacement depends upon:

  • Tutor availability

  • Subject availability

  • Location feasibility

  • Scheduling compatibility

Tutor Nation does not guarantee immediate replacement.


4. Proportional Refund Policy

If refund is approved during the Initial Evaluation Period:

  • Refund shall be calculated only on unused tuition classes/sessions.

  • Classes already conducted shall be chargeable.

  • Any applicable platform charges, payment gateway charges, taxes, or processing fees may be deducted.

  • Refund eligibility shall be subject to verification by Tutor Nation.

Example:
If monthly tuition fees are paid and only one week of classes has been utilized, refund may be processed proportionately for the remaining unused period after applicable deductions.


5. Cases Where Refund Will Not Be Applicable

Refunds shall NOT be provided in cases including but not limited to:

  • Change of mind after tutor confirmation

  • Student irregularity or absenteeism

  • Lack of academic improvement

  • Examination results

  • Competitive exam performance

  • Personality mismatch after evaluation period

  • Relocation of student/parent

  • Scheduling conflicts caused by parent/student

  • Failure to attend classes

  • Internet/connectivity issues in online classes

  • Discontinuation without prior notice

  • Violation of Platform Terms of Use


6. Online Tuition Refunds

For online tuition services:

  • Refund requests must be raised within the first 7 days of commencement.

  • Technical issues caused by:

    • Internet failures

    • Device malfunction

    • Software/platform issues

    • Power interruptions

shall not automatically qualify for refunds.

Tutor Nation may attempt tutor replacement before considering refund requests.


7. Short-Term Assignments & Trial Classes

  • Fees for short-term assignments, demo sessions, trial classes, or special arrangements may be non-refundable unless specifically approved by Tutor Nation.

  • Free demo classes, if provided, carry no refund value.


8. Payment Gateway Charges

Payments processed through third-party payment gateways including Razorpay may attract:

  • Transaction charges

  • Gateway fees

  • Banking deductions

Such charges may be deducted from approved refunds wherever applicable.


9. Refund Processing Timeline

Approved refunds, if applicable, may be processed within:

  • 7 to 15 business days

depending upon:

  • Payment method

  • Banking systems

  • Payment gateway timelines

Tutor Nation shall not be responsible for delays caused by banks or payment gateway providers.


10. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Users shall not initiate fraudulent:

  • Chargebacks

  • Payment reversals

  • Payment disputes

without first contacting Tutor Nation for resolution.

Tutor Nation reserves the right to:

  • Suspend accounts

  • Restrict services

  • Take legal action

in cases involving abusive or fraudulent payment disputes.


11. Cancellation Policy

Users may request cancellation of services by contacting Tutor Nation through official channels.

However:

  • Cancellation does not automatically guarantee refund eligibility.

  • Refund eligibility shall be determined strictly as per this Policy.


12. Right to Refuse Refund

Tutor Nation reserves the sole right to:

  • Approve or reject refund requests

  • Request supporting information

  • Verify complaints before processing refunds

All decisions made by Tutor Nation regarding refunds shall be final and binding.


13. Changes to Refund Policy

Tutor Nation reserves the right to modify or update this Refund Policy at any time without prior notice.

Updated versions shall become effective upon publication on the Platform.


14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Refund Policy shall be governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh India
